Chad A. Betsey is a business consultant and legal professional with twenty years of experience. Prior to entering the entertainment industry, Chad worked in finance for nearly a decade; which provided him with a strong foundation in both business and finance. After acquiring his certified financial planner designation, Chad shifted his focus to his true passion, the arts. Over the past ten years, he has managed artists, music producers, negotiated numerous deals, executive produced projects, and produced music of his own.
Simultaneously, Chad obtained his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law with a concentration in business and transactional law. These experiences make him uniquely qualified to ensure that both his client’s legalities and finances are above board. With the advent of music streaming, circular licensing agreements, and inconsistent royalty payouts, the ability for content creators to navigate in the business has become more complex and artists are now in need of these kinds of services. With this in mind, he founded Van Buren Ivy, LLC and has not looked back.
While working for media and entertainment companies in Philadelphia and Boston he was responsible for deals which included: Travis Scott, Machine Gun Kelly, Jake One, Just Blaze, Musiq Soulchild, Bilal, Needlz, Freeway, Vivian Green, Hezekiah, Silk, Wale, Chad Wes (Grammy Award Winner), Bink, Marsha Ambrosius (Grammy Nominated), and Johnny Popcorn.
